The success of our resort rests on the success of the local community, and our contribution to its sustainable development is at the core of our values.

To this end, we actively seek to train and employ people from nearby villages.

We source our fair share of our produce from nearby communities too – in particular part of our delicious supply of fresh fish from local fishermen, who bring in their catch right on the beach in front of the resort.

We also work with a local cooperative of women who hand weave intricately designed and colourful mats, temple baskets, bags, containers and hats, among others. These beautiful handicrafts help uplift the lives of these women while reviving the traditional Palmyra industry in the east coast area.

Finally, we are also supporting the development of Sri Lanka’s art scene, showcasing and representing a number of emerging Sri Lankan artists in our resort, as well as abroad.
