Additional occupancy

Maximum occupancy for the various Suite categories shall be as follows:

  • Palam Suites: 3 adults or 2 adults plus 1 or 2 children/young children
  • Kolaya Suites: 3 guests (adults or children/young children)
  • Seed Suites: 6 guests, out of which maximum 5 adults
Exact number of adults, children and young children to be specified at the time of booking, ability to accommodate extra adults/children/infants subject to confirmation by management prior to booking and availability of extra beds/baby cots Room charge (per night) for additional guests shall be as follows:
  • Adults: USD 50 in Super Prime and Prime seasons; USD 40 in Intermediate and Low seasons
  • Children (4-12 years): USD 30 in Super Prime and Prime seasons; USD 20 in Intermediate and Low seasons
  • Young children (0-3 years): No additional charge

  • Free accommodation and meals for drivers or guides in specified quarters are subject to availability and applicable policies
  • Lunch and dinner are served on an à la carte basis. Bills for any such à la carte orders will be charged to the room and the guest will be asked to sign these bills daily.
  • Final payment can be made in either LKR or USD.
  • Visa, MasterCard and cash in USD and LKR are the accepted forms of payment.
  • For payments in Sri Lankan Rupees, US Dollar rates will be converted at prevailing rates determined by Karpaha Sands at its sole discretion
  • Any rates listed above may be changed by Karpaha Sands at its sole discretion without prior notice at any time, new rates shall apply thereafter for any new booking made after such change
  • At the time of booking, guests are required to pay a minimum of 50% of the booking amount, and will be charged the remainder of the balance upon check out. Please note that if the guest does not pay on the stipulated due date(s), Karpaha Sands reserves the right to cancel the reservation & forfeit the deposit paid.
  • In the case of cancellation, the deposit paid will not be refunded.
  • If a cancellation is made upon request from Karpaha Sands, the hotel will refund all monies already deposited to the guests
  • For payments by bank transfer, the guest shall advise their bank not to deduct fees from the transfer. If the full payment amount is not received, the hotel reserves the right to either cancel the reservation or collect the balance upon arrival to the property
  • There is no minimum stay requirement
  • Karpaha Sands assumes no responsibility for any loss or damage to property or for injury, illness or death to a guest or anyone in the guest party, however caused, whether arising directly or indirectly from war, riot strife, industrial dispute, contact with wild animals, terrorist activity, actions of governments or other state bodies, unavoidable technical problems with transport, machinery or equipment, delays, power failure, natural disaster, tsunami, fire, adverse weather conditions or levels of water in rivers, accidents or acts of God from the time of check in until the time of check out at Karpaha Sands.
  • The guest is liable for all damages to property of the hotel caused by negligence or improper use. All costs incurred shall be borne by the guest.
  • The guest acknowledges that it is his/her responsibility to take out comprehensive travel insurance to cover his/her personal requirements.
  • These General Terms & Conditions are governed by the law of Sri Lanka.
